MSC Malaysia's Technopreneurs Pre-Seed Fund

Special thanks to the author of http://eilham.blogspot.com
Qassia
Hey you,

The Eilham Technopreneurs Development Programme is now in liason with MDEC (Multimedia Development Corporation Sdn Bhd) to help you cash in your ideas through MSC Malaysia's Technopreneurs Pre-Seed Fund:

MSC Malaysia’s Technopreneur Pre-Seed Fund Programme is initiated in RMK9 to catalyze the creation of local Technopreneurs and K-SMEs in ICT towards growing the local ICT Industry. This programme addresses the funding gap at pre-seed stage and is expected to boost the development of commercially viable ICT projects and kick off a chain reaction in the creation of new local K-SMEs in ICT.

The targeted beneficiaries are local Technopreneurs. Only individuals are eligible to apply, not existing companies. The programme offers up to RM150k of conditional funding to develop viable business plans into commercially focused ICT projects with prototype and detailed business plans suitable for venture funding & commercialization. As a developmental programme, it is not a pure grant and recipients will also benefit from development, mentoring services and access to shared lab facilities at MSC Malaysia Status Incubators provided through MDeC’s Technopreneur Development programme.

Of course, you are welcome to apply it on your own. But, if you are a member of Eilham, then you will benefit from having a mentor who could help you through (Did you know that Aspati is an MSC status company?).

Also, as an Eilham member, you will find that your projected business expenses for your ideas will much less compared to if you were to get your own resources.

So there. You can download the Pre-Seed forms from the following link:

I'd recommend that you take a look at the documents, start brainstorming for an idea, and if you haven't done so already, join Eilham to get a mentor to help you out.

The Pre-Seed application Batch 11 starts 7th August 2008, and the closing date for application is 27th August 2008.

The Eilham Technopreneurs Development Programme committee is working hard with MDEC officials to organize a seminar for you on the MSC Malaysia's Technopreneur Pre-Seed Fund. Will let you know once we have confirmed the date, time and venue.

You can read the details at www.technopreneurdevelopment.net.my.

Go for it! May 2008 starts your journey into success!

Monolog 1 - My Frustration

Qassia

Sometimes I juz wonder, this life of mine.
Will I be the winning frog, who will be out of the milk can, by keep on struggling?
Will I be the butterfly, with the course of nature, out of its cocoon though its hard?

Some friends, they juz won't care much about how you are doing, or how's life treating you.
They only care on how much money they can make, not how much we can make together.
How you can benefit only them, not how they will benefit you and them altogether.

You keep getting advices that you already knew, and you get sick of all those.
And people just keep fighting and trying to toppled each other, not holding hands in togetherness.
So many I have found these kind of people.
People who don't even give a damn to support our local small time businesses and entrepreneurs.
They just know how to criticize, coz they think you are a big time suckers!

Beware of Miscommunication!

Qassia
A friend send me this awfully funny story. Beware of the way you write, or speak, or else you'll end up in a Miscommunication

A co-worker got a pen stuck inside our printer. He started to try and remove the pen, but I told him we don't have time for that now, just put a note on the printer telling folks not to use it and then report it to the Help Desk. So he grabbed a piece of paper and scrawled on it. I left before he finished the note.
About 20 minutes later, one of my techs comes in laughing and says he was just in the lobby, saw a piece of paper on a printer and went to investigate.

Attached is what he found. Sometimes things don't always come out the way you want them to........

Now that you've smiled at least once, it's your turn to spread the stupidity and send this to someone you want to bring a smile to (maybe even a chuckle)...in other words, send it to everyone. We all need to smile every once in a while. Give them the link to this post!

Sampai bila baru kita nak bersatu?

Qassia
Muzakarah: BBPM sedia jadi orang tengah
Jul 18, 08 11:29am

Memang dah sampai masa.

Budak Pun Tau Takut Dimakan Sumpah!

Qassia

"Uuhh... mak aku pernah cakap kalau kita mengintai perempuan mandi,
nanti kena sumpah jadi batu..."
"Masa aku tengok perempuan tu tadi, aku rasa ada sesuatu dah mula
mengeras, aku rasa dah nak mula jadi batu, sebab tu aku lari...,"
jawabnya lagi.

MORAL: Jangan intai awek mandi, nanti kena sumpah jadi batu...hehehe!

Useful Safety Tips for All, Especially Women!

Qassia
This contains some very valuable information. Got this from an email, and I strongly feel the importance of sharing it with all of you.
Crucial

Because of recent abductions
in daylight hours, refresh yourself
of these things to do
in an emergency situation...
This is for you,
and for you to share
with your wife,
your children,
everyone you know.
After reading these 9 crucial tips ,
forward them to someone you care about.
It never hurts to be careful
in this crazy world we live in.

1 . Tip from Tae Kwon Do :
The elbow is the strongest point
on your body.
If you are close enough to use it, do!
2. Learned this from a tourist guide
in New Orleans
If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse,
DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM .
Toss it away from you....
chances are that he is more interested
in your wallet and/or purse than you,
and he will go for the wallet/purse.
RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!
3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car,
kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole
and start waving like crazy.
The driver won't see you, but everybody else will.
This has saved lives.

4.
Women have a tendency to get into their cars
after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit
(doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc.
DON'T DO THIS!)
The predator will be watching you, and this
is the perfect opportunity for him to get in
on the passenger side, put a gun to your head,
and tell you where to go.
AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR ,
LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE.

If someone

is in the car
with a gun
to your head
DO NOT DRIVE OFF,
repeat:
DO NOT DRIVE OFF!
Instead gun the engine
and speed into anything, wrecking the car.
Your Air Bag will save you.
If the person is in the back seat
they will get the worst of it .
As soon as the car crashes
bail out and run.
It is better than having them find your body
in a remote location.

5
. A few notes about getting
into your car in a parking lot,
or parking garage:
A.) Be aware:
look around you,
look into your car,
at the passenger side floor ,
and in the back seat
B.) If you are parked next to a big van,
enter your car from the passenger door .
Most serial killers attack their victims
by pulling them into their vans while the women
are attempting to get into their cars.
C.) Look at the car
parked on the driver's side of your vehicle,
and the passenger side.. If a male is sitting alone
in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back
into the mall, or work, and get a
guard/policeman to walk you back out.
IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)

6. ALWAYS take the elevator
instead of the stairs.
(Stairwells are horrible places to be alone
and the perfect crime spot.
This is especially true at NIGHT!)

7.
If the predator has a gun
and you are not under his control,
ALWAYS RUN!
The predator will only hit you (a running target)
4 in 100 times; And even then,
it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ.
RUN, Preferably in a zig -zag pattern!

8. As women, we are always trying
to be sympathetic:
STOP
It may get you raped, or killed.
Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking,
well educated man, who ALWAYS played
on the sympathies of unsuspecting women.
He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often
asked 'for help' into his vehicle o r with his vehicle,
which is when he abducted
his next victim.

9. Another Safety Point:

Someone just told me that her friend heard
a crying baby on her porch the night before last,
and she called the police because it was late
and she thought it was weird. The police told her
'Whatever you do, DO NOT
open the door.'
The lady then said that it sounded like the baby
had crawled near a window, and she was worried
that it would crawl to the street and get run over.
The policeman said, 'We already have a unit on the way,
whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.'
He told her that they think a serial killer
has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax
women out of their homes thinking that someone
dropped off a baby He said they have not verified it,
but have had several calls by women saying that
they hear baby's cries outside their doors
when they're home alone at night.

Please pass this on and DO NOT open the door
for a crying baby ----
This e-mail should probably be taken seriously because
the Crying Baby theory was mentioned on
America 's Most Wanted this past Saturday when they profiled
the serial killer in Louisiana

I'd like you to forward this to all the women you know.
It may save a life. A candle is not dimmed by lighting another candle.
I was going to send this to the ladies only,
but guys, if you love your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc.,
you may want to pass it onto them, as well.

Send this to any woman you know that may need
to be reminded that the world we live in has a lot of crazies in it
and it's better to be safe than sorry..
Everyone should take 5 minutes to read this. It may save your life or love one's life.

The Cocoon and The Butterfly

Qassia

This is based on a true story.

There was once a group of students studying the life cycle of a butterfly. They took a caterpillar from the campus garden and kept it in their laboratory for that purpose. Everyday they would feed the caterpillar with fresh leaves, as to make sure it lives healthily until the time it would transform into a butterfly.

Days gone, the caterpillar transformed into a cocoon. The students kept monitoring the development as they didn't want to miss the moment it would come out from the cocoon.

Then the day came. Their calculation was right, and they were so excited to see that their patience would finally get paid. Their professor who monitored the group's project was also present to witness the magical moments. They watched in awe how the butterfly struggled its way trying to release itself from the cocoon. It felt like time had passed, but the butterfly was still struggling its way out. They felt sorry for the poor butterfly, so they helped it out by cutting the cocoon with a pair of scissor, very careful indeed as not to injure the struggling butterfly. Within a few seconds, it was free and they were so happy.

Much to their surprise, the freed butterfly didn't look like a normal butterfly anybody ever see on this planet. It was badly deformed, one wing so small and the other was almost undeveloped. It almost did not look like a butterfly at all. They were pretty sure nothing was wrong in the process, and they did not even scratched the butterfly when they cut the cocoon. Even worse, it only survived a few hours before it died.

Dumbfounded, they asked their professor, what could be the cause? The professor smiled, shook his head and explained:

"You have tampered with nature when you help the butterfly by cutting its cocoon. You think you are helping it, but indeed you had deformed it. God had make it to struggle out of its cocoon for with the energy struggle, the needed fluid and exact nutrition will flow to its wings and other parts of the body. It will then make it a perfect and beautiful butterfly. The shortcut you gave it made it not struggling enough!"

Moral of the story: NO PAIN NO GAIN. It is the rule of nature that one should feel the pain and hardships of life, before one can sip the juice of joy, success and happiness. So if you think your life now really sucks, you're actually having the right ingredients of moving towards success. Beware of shortcuts, and also beware with feeling complacent. There are Malay sayings which said: Berakit-rakit ke hulu, berenang-renang ke tepian, bersusah-susah dahulu, bersenang-senang kemudian. And the Ibanese sayings: Agi idup agi ngelaban!
